Where can i get the electronic coil to fit an older 3HP model 80202?
Wanting to upgrade away from the standard one. Saw several on Ebay but no reference of the model 80202 engine. Don't want to buy one then find out it does not fit. Thanks.

Great. Thought i would try to get one off Ebay but not wanting to get the wrong one. Most of the mower shops around here are like " we don't have anything for those old Briggs" and such.

Well its the same mount on the small briggs for ever. The 1 to 3.75 hp blocks are the same for well um about 50 years . You can run a push mower one same coil . The only big change is old briggs had a 4 post coil mount and a square coil frame the new ones are a 2 post but fit no problem . If ya need help with parts let me know got a huge book on them .

OldMiniBikes has these under coil ignition modual B and S sku -7287 used on 3 hp briggs horz engines they work great just cut the wires to the points..... one side of the coil goes in with the spade lug to the inside for your kill switch put a business card under the legs to set coil gap
