Facebook Marketplace Lockout

#1
Has anyone else been locked out of Facebook Marketplace for no apparent reason? Were you able to get back in? How did you do it?

I have been cleaning out my small shop to make room so I can complete an old car project. I have been selling minibikes and parts, motorcycles, my canoe, and more. Items have been listed here on OldMiniBikes, on CL, Bring A Trailer, and FB.

Marketplace seems to be a little better than CL because you can target your audience more closely and communicate quickly with buyers, and I have not gotten nearly as many scam replies. The OldMiniBikes classifieds and Bring A Trailer are fine, but not for selling canoes and such.

A couple of weeks ago I received a message from FB saying I had been locked out of marketplace for violating FB's terms of service, but no specific violation was mentioned and no violations are listed in my Support Inbox. The FB system allows you to apply to have the matter reviewed and promises a quick reply.

Baloney. After two weeks I have received no reply and I am still locked out. I continue to receive daily notifications of new items for sale on my favorite pages, but I am not allowed to view them.

Searching online reveals that this is not an uncommon problem. Tipsters suggest clearing your browsing history, etc., but I have found no relief through the suggested tricks. The FB help/support pages address this problem specifically, so you know they know what's going on, but they only point in the direction of a review request and promised turnaround time. Nothing happens after that. It is apparently impossible to reach a live person at FB for tech support.

I have a few more swell items to sell and I sure would like to list them on Facebook Marketplace.

Tom, I have not faced that specific issue...but I know if a browser keeps remembering you, and you don't want it to...that opening a new tab "incognito" has helped me.

Perhaps that might help here...but I'm not certain.

I think it's ctrl P while in chrome that opens a new tab incognito. Check Google for the browser you are using.

Control + P opens the print window.

Control + Shift + N if you want to use an incognito window in Chrome to look at porn or minibike stuff.

The lack of reply is no surpeise. I ditched Facebook about 3 months ago and the instructions said that I would get all my old photos and saved items (?????) in 10 days. Not a word yet. My friend John Craft had years of Nascar history on his FB page and got lock out because of a potitical post. He told them to stick it where the sun didnt shine.

FB Is way to nosey anymore for me to have any interest. I was only a memmber to follow 3 people. Never posted anything and never got locked out and have no interest in being a part of it.

Of interest and contrast to your issue. I can still look at FBMP if someone puts up a link but cant reply in it.

I am still locked out. FB continues to send me notifications of new items listed on the pages that I follow but I cannot view them.

FaceBook blows!, they suspended me when one of our followers threatened another member and I blocked that follower. I guess he was butthurt and reported me, I just disagreed with their stupid policy violation BS and I was up and running the next day. Later they said that I was in violation for bullying but nothing further happened. FB is so immature, how can they side with the guy I blocked for threatening somebody is beyond me!.

It seems like a recurring issue for some users. The lack of specific violation details and a lengthy review process can be really frustrating.

Never had or wanted Facebook and still don't. Wife got into Farmville game around 2008 while pregnant with my daughter.. She was home bound due to complications and wanted another farm to take care of... she worked on me and I finally relented..let her open an account in my name... BIG mistake LOL... several ex-girlfriends among other seedy characters from my past appeared and began messaging me LOL. One of my exes invited me to her upcoming sex toy party... account shut down quickly LOL.....
I warned her LOL...:D

Clearing browsing history is a common troubleshooting step, but it doesn't always work for everyone. It's disappointing that Facebook's support pages aren't offering more concrete solutions.
If you're ever looking to expand your online presence, you might be interested to know that you can actually get Facebook fan pages for sale. It's a potential way to boost your visibility if you decide to explore it.
