Fixing some one horrible bugger welds on rupp c220 head tube

#1
Okay I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves self. Should I just cut this section out, stick some lugs in the ends and have someone tig weld it back up? I don’t want this to be noticeable at all. And what would this cost to fix. My welds would end up like this weld and I’d grind it down. But not trying to have it look like crap lol

Blending that weld out in the apex where the downtube and necktube meet would be troublesome. By the time its unnoticeable and "pretty" the strength of the weld if ever was much would be gone of course. The give of that short a section might not be a good canidate to put a plug in the tube to join either. Think you would be most asthetically pleased and for the rigidity of the frame section removing that complete downtube and replacing/reforming it from the foot peg cross bar up unfortunately. Honestly simplest for a welder/fabricator than trying to clean that all up and have any strength left without gusseting. Best wishes in a solid repair.
