Doug...membername FOMOGO did a great thread on straightening forks where he leaves them on the bike (removes the engine), then clamps the fork to the bench, with the bike frame up in the air for leverage...he then cold bends the forks back in to place.
I can't find Doug's original article, but did find another one where he shows pics and describes the process. His forks and the guy he was helping, were bent way in to start with...check out this link:
Hey Jim. That was my bike at one point. Glad you ended up with it. IIRC that is a 1971. Here is a factory brochure picture. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
I was told it was a 68 , and it matches all the pictures I can find of a 68 , but maybe they didn't change them in those years , al I know is it will be a project to bring it back to life
