A friend of mine gave me the mixed-bag rolling chassis for this, and it was pretty haphazard to say the least. It took a lot of fabricating, welding, and parts to make it usable, and here’s the funny-looking result. It’s weird how much a free bike can cost you, lol. I know where most of the various parts came from, but I’ll let you guys have the fun of guessing.

I think that is about the best looking resto mod of a Manco Thunderbird that I have seen.

Nice work.
Thank you, and good eye!

It came to me with the Chinese PW80 clone front end welded on and the scooter wheel in back, but the proportions were real bad with the rear wheel and shocks in the stock position. I made some new mounting plates to move the wheel back about 4”, moving the shocks back as well. The CT200 seat sits on a custom angle iron frame. I had to completely rework the engine mounting plate and gusset a few spots. The stock muffler wouldn’t fit, so I had to make a custom arrangement. The strangest thing I had to do was cut the middle out of the original sprocket and weld it to the rear brake rotor. The scooter wheel didn’t really have a good provision for mounting both, and it already had a front brake. I’d like a rear brake too, but I’m kinda done messing with it! :D
