Gas Cap

I've come up empty so far ( not giving up ) on locating a Roper gas cap , does anyone know of an alternate cap that will work and look close to correct ? Thanks :thumbsup:

Ok, found a image on Google and made it larger. If this is like I think it is a Older Harley fuel tank cap is the same.

Looks a lot like the 1970 and up Rupp gas caps

If it fits, these are very similar

First link you posted I think is right, with the flat tabs.

The lowered tabs are for newer fuel tanks I think.

I have a rupp cap and will try it on the roper tank.

Thanks guys , Not so mini said the Rupp cap doesn't seem to turn on all the way ??

I think the OG Rupp cap, has a lower skirt than the Harley cap.

The he rupp car is the same as Harley. The roper cap is deeper.

Mine looks nothing like this. It's got two tabs on the outside, on the top, that you use to turn it.

Yea 10-4 Johnny , but it's chrome and if it will work it may be an alternative as the Roper cap is tricky to find ?? I could buy a whole tank to get a cap but man I got a tank , lol !
