is the secondary gear sprocket supposed the slide on the shaft when the nut is tight? my nut was loose, but even when tightened I can move the outer gear around. the inner one that drives the wheel looks like it has a built in key?, and the outer uses a separate key? thanks for everyones help.

I figured it out it is a single key for both sprockets but was broke in half

DO yourself a favor and put a TAV on it. The original jackshaft system is ok but the TAV is an nice improvement.

This one has all the needed stuff.

I plan on doing that over the winter. I'm undecided on what brand. I like the gokartsusa model. my jackshaft secondary had too long of a key, and the nut tightened against the key letting the gears slide around.
