Help me ID what this engine was used on, please?

I just bought a Tecumseh Power Products branded 2 stroke engine. It is an AH47, the little tag says T1144.
I am wondering what is was built for. It has a mount for a round tank like a vertical shaft mower, no governor, like a chainsaw and a tillotson carb that could not have been adjusted if it was on a lawnmower, because the mixture screws would be pointed down, toward the deck.
I do not have it yet, but if you need pictures, I can grab them from Ebay. Thanks in advance.
I bought it for the recoil starter, but spare engines for parts are necessary for these antiques.

Rototiller.

I had an old rototiller with an engine just like that on it. lots of room around the engine to reach the carb and whatever, no governor just a cable running from the carb to the handlebars so you could set speed. had that exact exhaust on it and it was loud as thunder while running.

Best answer so far. Thanks. Do you remember the brand name on that tiller? Was it a Sears David Bradley?

I have no idea. I found two of them, identical, in the back of a friend's dad's tractor shed in the mid 70s. They were old and no longer used. His dad gave me one to take home and see if I could get it running. I did and had a good time messing around with it. They had no labels or guards of any kind on them, only a throttle and clutch. they did not have recoil starts though, only the pulley to wrap a rope around.

I looked at Jiffy ice augers. They are Tecumseh 2 stroke engines, but they are a newer generation than this engine. Those look like AV600 engines, similar to snow blowers and Eska outboard motors from the seventies.

This engine should be delivered today. I am sure it has ball bearings on both ends of the crank and needle bearings at both ends of the connecting rod. Type 1144 was made for chainsaws and go karts. Depending on the internal condition of this one, I might take the motor mount and the fuel tank off the other AH47 and make an "original" Power Products kart engine.
That might explain the white paint and the odd carb mounting.
