Tonight I got the engine plate cut out of .125 hot rolled steel...I know the slotted holes are redundant with the rear wheel axle slots but I like the option to adjust the engine a bit if needed for a clearance issue?

I also cut the fender parts and welded them up.


Cut the neck gusset too.

Tonights Shenanigans...Hot off the table,I cut the fender brackets and bent them into shape.

Today I welded in the engine plate to get some measurements for the clutch cover and muffler system..Tight fit on the air cleaner but I can still remove it for maintenance with out moving the engine or fender.




I also stamped the plate with a name and date/number so 50 years from now on this OldMiniBikes site/forum when somebody ask the question about a Maverick Mini bike in the
"what is it" perhaps this build thread will show?..lol And I made the regular peg set also.

Thanks.. The fenders will be white with green stripes and the frame will be Hunter green...My G/ nephew Mavericks favorite color..

Tonight's escapades..I welded up the clutch cover...Put a little do-tee-do return in it..

Thank you sir! ..Next up is a kick stand of some sort and the throttle hook up/seat upholstery ...then on to paint and final assembly..

Tonight's activity's...working on a muffler system..2.5 inch muffler tube...gonna stuff it with dollar store chore boy stainless pot scrubbers to keep the noise level down to keep my neighbors happy...

Soon!..I want to make the seat next..I just finished the kick stand tonight..
I flattened a piece of 3/4 pipe in my press for the stand and made the bracket out of 3/16 stock.I wanted the kick stand/bracket to be high enough above the under belly because I have a few speed bumps in my community that I anticipate having to slide this machine over as I cruise the 'hood..lol..






I plan on welding in a threaded 3/16 plate on the back side in case I feel the need to add a chain idler wheel after the fact?

4.25 to 2.25 inches???

I see what you mean, could prob shorten it up a little bit in the front.

Thanks ! Yea I think the seat foam looks too chunky...Need to down size it a bit??.Gonna re do it with the black yoga mat foam I think?

Thanks..I feel my Nephew might struggle to reach the pegs and will be sitting on the front of the seat,I might even have to zip tie a temp piece of conduit above this peg set for his tiny legs to reach?He has not seen this yet and it's a surprise so I could not get him "Fitted"..lol...I am mimicking the seat on the Lil'Petrol that come's up to the neck area.
