Hot leg

I see a lot of people without a cover on the clutch and when I sat on the bike for the first time, all I get is a lot of hot air blowing on my leg. I'm assuming that's normal since it is rotating pretty fast? Sorry for the dumb question, first bike ever!

I can't see the hot air, lol.

I had mine without a cover and I wasn't comfortable with it. I was afraid a shoe string would get caught. Plus the cover stops me from touching the pipe easily, and talk about hot.

lol, should've used my infrared camera! it's just I feel some air blowing at my leg and it seems to be coming from the clutch area. when I first broke in the engine, I felt air coming from the drive shaft so maybe it's just normal.

Its the fins on the flywheel blowing the air across the fins to cool the engine.

Ahh, makes sense. So either use a cover or wear long pants :thumbsup:

Your situation looks normal, I'd just go for the long pants and enjoy the ride.

Buy this and you will be safer next to that spinning clutch and chain. $20 - Money well spent.
You can add onto it to cover more of the chain area. You REALLY want to avoid getting your shoes, socks, pants etc caught in the chain.
They also have one powder coated black for another $5.
