just turned 49 and couldn't be happier.I believe in the saying that "you don't quit having fun because you get old, you get old when you quit trying to have fun" "Getting old is a part of life but growing up is optional." Rock On, If they complain that your music is to loud, crank it up till you can't hear them.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:At 8 years old I got a new 20 inch bicycle for christmas. Before i turned 9 my dad tore his old rototiller apart and put the motor on my bicycle. Im 49 now and there has been over a hundred bikes of various sizes makes and models over that span. Lost my shop to my ex in a divorce last year. I got out with my bikes , tools and the animals. Im down to only 15 or so bikes now,Some projects, some ive owned for over 20 years. Its pretty much been my lifes work and i wouldnt change a thing . Live well , ride hard, Take care of business. Hi All, I joined today. Was wondering if maybe I might be out of place. My birth certificate says I am age 53, but at heart I feel in my 20's or 30's. A few weeks ago, I purchased a neighbor's lawnmower, starting working on it, and searching for Briggs engine parts. That brought back so many memories of when I was age 13, I bought used a Fox Campus Bike, blue and white, lights, 3 HP Briggs. I am still doing research to figure-out what model year it was. Probably a '67 or '68. I had the one minibike, then a Yamaha 180 cc motorcycle, rode a few brother's motorcycles (Hodaka's), and many snowmobiles (Ski-Doo and Chaparral) in the late '60's and early '70's.
I really appreciate the honestly of you older guys and I like that the young teenagers are here also. As a former software engineer, Corporate American does not like to hire Americas over age 50, so the job market has become a bit hard. It makes me so sad to think about the jobs and manufacturing that has gone overseas. I should not complain; I bet it is even harder for you Rust Belt guys. And now, the American Companies even bring-in foreign guest engineers on H-1B vista's to replace American-born engineers.
Still stuck in the city (Boston), but looking to head to NH to get out into the more rural areas. Sad to say, but I think the best times of America are behind us. I am now looking for new, low cost, low gasoline ways to have fun. I really appreciate reading the posts of all you guys. I have not yet gotten (re-purchased) a mini bike or a small motorcycle, but I am thinking about it. -Orson

I'll be 47 in about 2 weeks,I had bikes when I was younger but I was too rough with them.I bought a brand new motorbike when I was 16 and it went to the junkyard in less than 3 months.It was a street bike and I was doing offroad,jumping it,racing and 1 day I went to fillup the bike and across the street there was this nice hill that I just couldn't resist and went for it,well...I over filled the gastank and it dripped onto the motor while I jumped the hill and the tank caught fire then my pants,I jumped off and kaboom!blew the head right off the motor,close call!Now I have 4 bikes for different moods,1 for cruising,1 for jumping,1 for fun and 1 mini.:thumbsup:
