HS40 55552L extended cam

I picked up a Snapper snowblower freebie with an HS40 55552L on it. Found the cam broken in 2, trashed one tappet, chipped out a piece the inside cup where the cam sticks in (JB Weld it back on?)

I am looking for a replacement camshaft. Now I'm not sure if this engine will be used for this snowblower or perhaps a minibike and perhaps re-power teh snowblower with something else.

I found one extended cam on ebay for $50. Hoping to do better than that. Will cams from other models work?

cheaper to find another motor unless your a machinist and also know how to weld cast aluminum. for the cam you have tons of options from hs-40/50's and hssk...etc.... i would start looking for another motor if you can't fix the block.
