Hs50 bushing crank 3/4”

#1
Hello,
I need an hs50 3/4” non ball bearing crank. It does need to be the smaller taper smaller thread ones that was used pre sometime early 80’s I think. It’s ok if not drilled and tapped but I prefer it to be. Thank you.

Thought I had spares of those, I looked and turns out I was actually short the small tapers and needed one myself :doah:

There are some used ones on ebay (part number is 33677a) If you need new, Flyods has a 1994 built SBH for early application with a small taper crank in it they have been sitting on for awhile. Its a large valve block still too. Only downside is it has a topfill side cover, but still a good deal overall if you do the math. They had the early recreational version one that they posted up at the same time as this one last year that I bought (ball bearing with small taper loaded into the same late block) It was clean and perfect shape/stored well so its a good to work with.

Heres the link to that SBH https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Tecums...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Markus,
I bought a short block nos hs50 on eBay for cheap and it has the points or electronic standoff’s but it has the high oil fill and the larger taper crank. I was wanting to build a 74 style slanted engine for a speedway el Tigre. I have a lighted flywheel and a side cover. Can you point to a link for a correct crank. I seen some but wasn’t sure if it was later one. The lighted flywheel I was gonna use is from a 74 Rupp roadster. Will this flywheel work.

Like I stated in the other post, the 33677a is the small taper/bushing output crankshaft your looking for, works with 1972-1980 small tapered points flywheels, HS40 and HS50s used the same flywheels soon as Tecumseh converted the HS40 to the thicker, heavier flywheel. Can use the earlier thinner/lighter HS40 flywheels as well but those have to be used in conjunction with the earlier HS40 shrouds in order to work correctly so yes you can use your flywheel from the HS40.
