I know it's a part of earth's ballance..sometimes bringing much needed rain, filling the lakes, cleaning the dead limbs and moss off my trees.....we went out for supplies to refresh our hurricane kits..lets all hope and think of this curving out into the Atlantic and gone..
Good idea Raskin, prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I have family in the Bahamas right now, they leave Wednesday, I hope they can avoid any trouble from Irma.
In the BIG picture of earth as a ever changing molten ball with a thin crust surface hurtling through space at 1.3 million MPH as part of the milky way galaxy is a hell of a dangerous place for meat covered skeletons to live!
Strange coincident, it's supposed to hit us on 9/11. They think.
Oh well I'm an old Boy Scout so I've been prepped for a long time. You wouldn't believe the folks down here who waited till the last minute it seems. Can't find bottled water, gas cans, flashlights, even the gas stations are running out of gas with folks filling up. Grocery stores look like someone is giving the food away they are so packed.
Just had to cancel vacation at Disney tonight... We were to arrive there Sunday AM. Fella said the watches and warnings are set to go out tomorrow.... Over an hour on hold.. Very easy to work with... Delta airlines another story....I hope everybody down there is prepared... Thoughts are with ya!
Yeah ..we rotate our supplies and use the stuff that have near expiration dates after each hurricane season and buy more new stuff every year to grow the supply back to comfort level..we got an extra fridge i keep at least 140 bottled waters and more stored all year coz we're on a well..i like at least 2 months of supplies..first aid, prescription meds..5 small fire extiguishers..everyone needs to do this no matter where you live......looks like I'll take my last minibike ride of the week and stash them in the shed ..then on to other stuff if gets closer..
Never had to worry about food or water while working for FPL but now that I am retired it is a different game. To all who might be in the path, stay safe.
southern guys are having some crazy weather this year. i was down this summer in gulfport miss when they had that real bad storm in june.
they had couple large waterspouts hit land and damage some buildings. thing came right across the beach and highway. they say there where big waterspouts.
winters up here have been mild for last couple years. no real big snow storms for us in wis.
maybe this year could be the big one ...
Everywhere seems to have something .. Tornados, Lake effect Snow, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Lightning (etc) ... and that's just Mother Nature. West Nile, mad cow, pissed off spouse ...
This hurricane is no joke!!.............Irma is bringing a serious azz kicking with her, for those in the danger zone, please take care and be safe!....................Tom.
This could be a real problem for OldMiniBikes members in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas...maybe beyond. I'm sure no matter what happens, your fellow OldMiniBikes friends will be willing to help in some way. Stay in touch as best you can.

Oddest thing I saw cleaned off the shelves today at the grocery store was baked beans  So if you see Venice/Englewood areas of Florida named as disaster stricken on the news in the days after it make landfall and your someone that donates supplies etc., please toss a can of air freshener in with whatever you donate
It'll be like the campfire scene in blazing saddles, except well all be huddled around a bonfire made out of the trusses of our roofs
