I picked up some Harley parts now what are they???

Upon close inspection, this area looks to be tampered with, maybe JB weld and a spray can? What do you think?

Can you take a better photo here? Trying to figure out where that hole is related to the rest of the tank.

It’s the rear bottom mount hole...

Well, it's either been messed-with, or it's definitely not the same year/era as my bike. The mounting holes on mine are tabs with holes. The tabs closest to the seat are one on each side through which the bolt goes through vertically. Toward the handle bars, there are two tabs on each tank where the bolts go through in a horizontal manner.

Yea I’m thinking early fatbob tanks...had a set on a Panheads...5/16th bolt threaded through a washer welded on the frame into that hole and then at top bolt went through speedometer/tank and mounts...just my opinion...could he totally off base....could be an egg poacher...
