I've picked up a couple of tecumseh engines. One is a HS-40 off a old ariens snowblower. Looks in real nice shape and runs. One bolt was hissing like the head gasket was leaking so I took it apart. Everything looks great except the head gasket. The bolts holes are very close to the wall of the engine. It has a 2 5/8 bore by 2 stroke approxiametly. I went over to another dmp mini bike I picked up. It has a Sears shroud on it so I pulled it of to take a look. Bore is the same stroke might be 2 and a bit but the head gasket , the head bolts are farther apart as if the cylinder thickness is more. It has 143 594032 serial number on it. I have a hs-40 lighting coil and flywheel I would like to put on one of these engines, The TECUMSEH with the sears shroud is on the mini bike with the proper mount for hand throttle. Any thoughts on which block would be better. The Arians also has the double pully that I would cut off if it is in the way. Thanks for any ideas. Garry
