Hello all,
I'm new here and need some help working on my washer pressure. I know nothing about engine. I watch some youtube videos about valves adjustment and cleaning. I have oil leak and I took everything apart and follow Arch's garage videos. i clean everything and install a cheap carburator i bought from Amazon. It run for 5-10 minutes but the engine was extremely loud and shake violently. after about 10 mins it's die. i did mess around with the governor nut a little bit. do any of you think i might reinstall something incorrect? should i take everything apart to see what's damage or what should i do now. i have some photos to show you. any help is greatly appreicated.

So have you ruled out whether your loosing fuel or spark ? A cracked coil will start when cold and loose spark when warm. Also if you messed with the governor you will have to look for the procedure to set it correctly. That could be the cause of the high rpm.

That "cheap carburator I bought from Amazon" you mentioned could be the culprit or at least a contributing factor. I have bought some of those over the years and my experience has been about a 50% failure rate. Either they do not run at all, do not run right/cannot be tuned, or they leak. That being said, they are certainly cheap enough as compared to an OEM Briggs carb, so its probably worth giving them a try. "Your milegage may vary"....

I didn't know that about coils. Good info. I was gonna say fuel flow, as just settling into an idle (or other consistent rpm) can kinda hypnotize some carbs into falling asleep at the switch and sending a bare minimum trickle such that the combustion cycle can start to falter and just die out. Maybe it's just me, but fiddling with the carb tuning helps that. Could also be an air leak that opens up somehow once the block and flange faces heat up? Shaking could be a timing thing. Either that or ghosts.
