Is the Harbour Freight a 7hp engine now?

I was looking to do my third conversion now. I went to HF and couldn't find the 6.5 engine. I know they have changed from the Greyhound to the Predator but is the 7hp engine now the one we need?

Great engine. I have one in my DB30 now and it goes about 35 mph and gets there quickly. My next project with this engine will be to replace my 17 year old MTD yard machine's 5hp Tecumseh which is hard to start and known to bog in the wet stuff or even stall out. Since the Tecumseh has 2 shafts the front one rotating in the opposite direction I had to flip the gear box since the Gear is on the other side now it doesn't want to go into the 5th gear spot since the pickup wheel bumps against the drive gear now. I never used anything faster than 3rd anyway when blowing my driveway and the Predator starts up with one or 2 pulls of the recoil. The Tecumseh in the cold was almost impossible to start and the set screw on the carb would at times seem to go out of tune when the engine is running. I know I will need to drill the main jet or get a bigger one and I heard installing 140 etube and hogging out the restriction in the stock air box (Free way of increasing air flow vrs buying a K&N adapter and filter)and getting an AR3910x spark plug with a 2cc reduction in combustion chamber space (increased compression) will yield 2 more Hp. If I can get it up to 9hp with 14ft/lbs of torque it will really chew through the snow. I seen that people have done it on Youtube and one guy did it with the exact same machine I have. He said it throughs snow 40 feet now and that with the 6.5hp blue clone. The Predator has more torque which is everything when blowing snow.

Just so you know what not to do. We couldn't get DB #2 to start last July. It had the Greyhound 6.5 on it. I brought it in the kitchen to work on it. We had quite a bit of snow and freezing temps. I noticed the air filter assembly wasn't put back on when we stopped working on it last time. That 6.5 was locked up tight. The crank would move about 170 degrees. From 12 o'clock to 4 o'clock. I broke of the little plastic bumps by tuning it too hard .

If anyone wants this you can have it. Shipping might be lots more than it's worth.

DB #2 is where the new engine is going. I guess if you need a part I could do that if it's not to complicated.
