I know that red and silver coloured motors were only made in the 1960s. Copper and white motors were made in the 1970s. It seems that sometime in the 1980s they switched to making black only motors, some were even bare aluminium. Many had to be different colours for their machinery. In my country, some early mowers had light blue and dark blue engines! I personally do not think that there is a power/performance difference, but someone maybe able to correct me :thumbsup:
