I've looked in the photo section....I don't know?

I've never seen that brake on an Arco..wonder if it was a re-branded bike. The mechanism looks pretty nice if it's home made.

The solid brass pads are interesting...might be home made too? I would think it would take more effort to stop the bike than with regular friction material.

Kustomkartkid, I looked at the welds...they are nice and clean, centered.
The brake rod on the left side of the bike is not home made. Everything looks like it belongs.......??????

There are lots of people capable of that quality of work, but I agree....looks factory. Could be re-branded.

Maybe the Arco experts will be along with a brochure to prove it's factory.

The fact that it has a caliper tells me the pedal was added. Very nicely added at that. Did you buy it? Is it still the Kelsey Hayes caliper? The engine is wrong as the rear wheel and seat. It's a very standard frame/fork in the Arco world. I hope there is proof that the pedal was factory, but I'm gonna go with my gut and say probably not. Whoever fabbed that did a hell of a job.

Yes, I bought it last night. When I looked at it, I really liked the brake set-up. I have to agree, if it was added, it was done by somebody that knew what they were doing.... VERY clean. You guys would know a lot better than I would. Yes, it is a KH caliper. Here is a picture of the caliper.

Yep. That's original to the Arco bikes. Still trying to figure the brass pads. Maybe that's why they added the pedal. More clamping force!
