Jackshaft question

I have read through the forums and am now confused. On my sears bike it looks like it may have had a jackshaft. Would these frames have been created to work with JS applications and also without JS? My engine plate has the holes way over to the right so the engine shaft lines up with the rear sprocket. From what I have read this means mine did not come with a JS. I am sorry about the seemingly simple questions. I have been reading deep into the forums, and man can that get confusing.

The ones without front suspension were single speeds with no jackshaft. The mounting holes were there though. The rear fenders were also different. The single speeds were cut out on the left for chain clearance. The two speed jackshaft models were cut out on the right.

well

that pretty much explains it then. I do not have front suspension, and my rear fender is "cut away" on the left. Thank you sir. Now back to the forums to confuse myself some more.

The Sears Roper frames have a jackshaft unit like the unit in this picture:

.
or a two speed unit like this one:
.

(It's upsidedown here in the picture)
