Japan built Blazer ?

Picked this up today its the Blazer

Japan built model?
Has shifted in middle front frame as not on side as most models.
Has Briggs 5hp with deepco clutch....
Any info is cool..

The biggest odd problem is that history claims these to be 6 to 7 HP? There is no way a big block would fit it barely fits a 5hp.... So this early version had to be a updraft 3hp to have everything fit correct. .

The first Blazers were 3hp, they came with the 5 3/4hp later

How lucky you are! That DEEPCO clutch is worth more than the whole bike! If it is working hug it hard. Finding the driven pulley can be a problem though.
