Junk roller chain

#1
Can someone please tell me where to get heavy duty #41 chain? The #41 chain I get from OldMiniBikes is nothing more than bicycle chain that breaks within 1 hour of use on my minibikes, the pins split the side links every time (junk).

Read descriptions carefully, some motorcycle chains are "endless" (fully riveted, no master link); made to a specific length for specific applications, don't want those. Even generic 420 should be much stronger (+85% per spec chart) than generic 41; the 420 weighs 36% more than 41 (per another chart), the additional material/weight has to be in the plates since the rollers are the same size (the 420 has larger pins but they fill larger bores and thus should not affect weight, disregarding any pin/bushing material weight difference or riveted head weight difference, which should be negligible). Amazon has RK RKM Series (economy) chain for $11.21 (98 link) to $16.24 (142 link), rated at 4,200 lb-ft TS, master link included. Of course, you can spend a lot more for features such as fancy finishes, chamfered plate edges, chrome plated pins, o-rings, x-rings...

Mariah, 41 is the weakest chain in that series. It is actually weaker than 35! If you call the warehouse, talk to me, (Eric) and ask for 41 chain, chances are I will tell you not to buy it and get 420!

Eric, The literature for my bikes listed #41 chain. Back in the day there must have been a heavy duty #41 chain they used. The old chain from my Broncco was marked 41 and the side plates were real thick. I must have got screwed over before doing this because there was a roll of #420 chain in my inventory that I had forgot was there! My bad, sorry.
