Junkyard 5hp fun

I got this 5hp for free and before it throws a rod again I thought I would have some fun. Both valves had a 19 thousands gap and were locked. crank case full of water to the top that sort of stuff. The guide came out with the exhaust valve. it got pushed back in. The jb weld repaired crankcase is kind of funny. I spotted that when I went in to remove the governor. Stuck a 22mm mikuni on and so far it’s been a lot of fun on the backroads. it’s now bolted to a streaker I just purchased. The normal mods were done before it got put back together. no internal governor. An exhaust spring on the intake valve to help with valve float along with top keepers like raptors have. The eyebrows were shaved off. I have a 3hp coil drop bracket on the way for the 3hp arc Flywheel. just anything people have tried has been done to this for a laugh. 44D5F93B-F819-4620-89C6-D8DFAF66DF21.jpeg

Before and after of the same gokart taken like 12 days apart. Having a junk 5hp to really test out the backyard mods is a blast. 58814BB1-27B6-4B71-8D1C-0425B8A9D9F2.png 9A0DB419-278C-4DF7-A02E-518AE59727F7.jpeg

Now back to the pulsa-jet it’s a number 2 so second generation? The best flowing pulsa-jet Briggs made according to this forum. Start with two base gaskets. It then got reemed out to match The gasket and intake port. The swirl port insert was pulled and the choke was pulled to. Pulsa-jets do not reach wot from factory. I chose to file away till it was true wot not just bend the tab. The throttle shaft and screw was filed thin. lastly the jet was opened up by a bit that almost slipped through with no effort. it may have not been enough of a bit to say it’s drilled. more so cleaned very very well. I have a stock jet on hand though. I’ll find out how it runs with this pulsa-jet tomorrow. but if it’s a flop I can just bolt the mikuni back on.
