Kill switch help

#1
Greetings all,

I just put a torque converter on a buddies new Coleman ct200u ex and darn if the kill switch stopped working just as I finished with the TC...

I’m wondering whether it’s the kill switch actually, or possibly the black wire that goes into the engine.

I pulled the green ground wire that connects to the kill switch wiring, but the engine kept running. I’m no ace electrician, but it seems like that should have interrupted the circuit and killed the engine - pointing to kill switch is ok, but perhaps black wire is internally disconnected?

Guess I can pull that side off, but just wanted to get expert opinions:)

Actually, the wire that goes to the magneto (coil) to ground is what kills the engine and the kill switch just completes the circuit.

Thanks. I’m not sure where that leaves me.

I just started the engine, then crossed the green ground wire with the black one you are referring to, and nothing, doesn’t kill the engine.

Sorry, that made no sense.

Just started engine and touched black wire to metal on engine and it shut off. Guess it’s the switch.
