LeadFoot 100' Drags -Rhode Island-

Official Facebook announcement.

After much discussion LEADFOOT cc has decided to CANCEL the Halloween mini bike drags on SAT OCT31. We are determined to keep this event fun and without too many restrictions that have nothing to do with racing. We have had trouble with the local police almost every race and it's just time to find another venue for this event. We don't need the grief and neither do our friends who operate the Yacht Club. If we can find a venue before the weather gets ugly we will schedule another race, if not we'll see you in the spring.

OK I was just checking.
There are actually people who are not on FB, I was looking for confirmation, thank you.

We are going to try and put something together, been working too hard and spending too much money to just get cancelled like that.
Anyone interested in attending, please PM me for details we are looking to have basically same setup, 100ft arm drop. No prizes no trophies no steak fry just glory lol.

Well we wanted to have one but don't want to blow up the spot too bad. A decent sized crowd would be fine but if a "Leadfoot-sized" crowd showed it might get shut down. There are no bathrooms or food at our spot as of now, so it's not really set up for events but I guess someone could bring a grill?

Put it this way, on Halloween morning I plan on racing my bike, even if it's solo runs. I'm pretty sure my Dad will want to race, couple local guys so we can race against each other or whatever. I'm not putting the bike away for the year without racing it if I can help it.
If putting it on FB would help the event then I am all for it. I just don't want like 1000 people to show up and 2 bikes lol.
To be honest the more bikes the better but we would need a flag man. Also is anyone opposed to a flashlight start? We don't have cute chicks to drop arms so might as well make it fair lol. Unless there are any cute chicks that want to volunteer, that is.

But seriously it could end up being a decent take, obviously not going to be as cool as Leadfoot race but better than nothing at all I guess? One of our crew is really hot to make this a huge event, so once I get him involved I'm pretty sure it will blow up.

I will try and stay on top of this but I will be stacking firewood all day so i will be in and out. Mostly out.

We are gauging interest, and am asking certain racers to attend, if the fast bikes show up, then people will show, that's what I'm thinking lol.

Our spot is way wider, way flatter and has a separate paved return road. Yup. And more shutdown area. from a racers perspective it's really sweet.

OK this is great, glad there is still interest!

We are not 100% at this time, prob about 90%. We should be 100% by tonight. I will confirm this and start a new thread about it.
We did have a racer ask for more time, personally I think it is already really late in the year with the weather coming and I don't want to push our luck. There is great air right now, believe me I understand it's like a week before the race and i am still waiting on parts for the driveline and I don't even have my motor back yet. But we are still going to try and make the race at all costs. That was the plan, why change it now? lol
Plus a lot of people took time off to make the Leadfoot event, if we change the date and time we will prob lose a lot of people.

Also we discussed the radar gun and we feel that it is not the best way to qualify. Everyone who shows up will race so there's really no reason to qualify anyways. That is a relatively new addition, in the past it was just eliminations. We should have a radar gun there anyways for speeds, I'm just concerned about the potential for sandbagging with the radar gun. I think the radar gun happened when the amount of bikes got really big. If a ton of bikes show up then we will use the radar gun if we have to.

Also,I just received word about flashlight start, we might keep the arm drop just for simplicity's sake. We will keep everything the same only the location has changed. Same rules, etc. just to keep it consistent. AFAIK there will be no track prep so keep that in mind.

I know there will be unlimited class bikes there, and prob some modified and stock class too. Not sure how we're going to handle that yet but we'll figure it out.

This is great news!
Like I said once we finalize a couple things I will make an official thread about it, enough people are coming to make it a good take. Hopefully now the weather holds out lmao
