Looki g for parts to cast into repop from originals

#1
I'm looking for old 2-stroke mufflers that I can 3D scan and make molds of, then produce duplicates. This way they'll be available for a lot longer, much easier to find, and cheaper to buy. They would of course be listed as repops.
I've also seen some cast motor mounts. If anyone has them or is willing to rent or loan them to me, I'll either ship yours back with a repop one, or I can rent it from you and just ship your original part back.

Or, if you have any other items that you think would be cool to reproduce (things we need more of), and you have one, let me know if I can scan it. Odds are I can make it.
Keep in mind, your part will only be used for 3D scanning — nothing else. No damage, no residue, nothing. I use a high-end laser scanner to create a full 360° 3D image. I can modify or improve the design, add custom engravings, or even flip it (for example, turn a left-side part into a right-side one if needed).

No reply, so my Spidey senses are tingling...
Hey, sorry I’m not on this website a lot. I just sent you a message.
Basically, what I want to do is cast the items. I 3D scan them, clean up the model in Blender (the 3D program I use), print them with casting filament, and then make a mold from the print.
The reason I’m not on here much is that I haven’t had much luck with other posts I’ve made. People say they’re interested but then never follow through, so I only check in every once in a while. Sorry about that — I’ll try to check back more often

"Here's some cat chain guides I designed and printed. I haven't sold any yet, but this is just a first step toward the casting process. I'd use a different filament for the prototypes, and the final parts would be cast in aluminum or another suitable metal that can hold up to the demands of the application, depending on the specific parts.
The other pics are just examples of other items I print and sell for the other company I'm starting."

do you have any aluminum casting equipment or experience? Any aluminum parts to show? Some of these old parts I have are very hard to come by and I must think hard before I send them anywhere, especially to a total stranger with questionable experience.

Well, Here is a solution.
If you are for real you will have no problem putting up "Good Faith" money for the value of said parts and then get that sent back to you upon completion of your 3D scans.

Personally would never send rare parts to someone I do not have a long term relationship with either online or in person.

EXACTLY! I might sell the parts to this person, and repay him upon their return, but asking for vintage 2 cycle parts on a loaner basis is delusional.

I wouldn’t be touching your parts at all with any type of materials that would hurt them.
The process I use involves two options. I can 3D scan the parts, clean up the images in a program on my laptop, then use a special filament to print the part and make a mold from the 3D printed piece.
Alternatively, I could make a mold using your actual part. Either way, the molds wouldn’t damage a metal part in any way. There would be no heat or melting metal near the original parts at any point. Once the scan is complete, I can ship your parts back before I even start making the new ones. I wouldn’t need them anymore, so you wouldn’t be without your parts for long—a few days at most.

I was thinking id repay you by sending you one or two or the repop parts free im not asking for hand outs with out payment of some sort it is alot of work on my end but I fully understand if you dont feel comfortable. It's no big deal I just figuered it help the community out and we would all have a sorce for some good repop parts that are hard to find

Have you been melting and casting anything from aluminum?

Is anybody interested in a custom megaphone for a Clinton Panther? I have one from a chainsaw, but the mounting bossed are on the ends, instead of the sides. I have one of each, so I plan to send them to @Tacmachine11 and ask him to make a custom mold.
