Main and Pilot jets

#1
Hey guys, maybe the members can point me in the right direction. Built a custom trike with a 212 Preditor motor, ungoverned with a billet flywheel and a PWK24 carb. Im in Staten Island NY so pretty much sea level, was wondering if you guys can give me a good starting point for pilot and main jet sizing? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sweet build. I'm guessing it's not running satisfactorily?

I notice your manifold looks somewhat adjustable, so maybe check for any air leaks in the mating surfaces. Extending those manifold fittings out too far can also make it challenging for the carb to maintain a stable air/fuel mix able to bridge that space. Also, before going to a bigger jet, consider restricting the air a bit with your air screw. Like if you're at 1.5 turns now, closing it toward only 1.25 turns out can make the pilot send a gassier blend. And for the main system, just setting your needle upward a notch can increase fuel flow because you're bringing the rod's taper up out of that needle jet (the one with a main jet screwed onto the bottom), and that keeps things wetter and prepared to take over where the pilot system leaves off. My thoughts, anyway.

Best of luck. Looks great!

We can only guess at the problem. Not much info was given as it pertains to baseline performance and what Diabloc wants to achieve.

That intake manifold does look wrong and problematic, with a rubber section in the middle, plus he has the air filter hanging out right on or over the tire. Why?

Sweet trike,
Yes you need to get that carb in closer to the engine. Remove the rubber boot?? Buy a different intake???
