I have finished my rebuild (don't want to offend the purist by using the word "restored"..
) of this vintage Thunderbird minibike.
- Frame was stripped to the bare metal, epoxy primer, high build primer and then brand new paint...Carbon Silver frame and Bright Silver flake tank/fenders/handle bars/rims.
- Brand new tires/tubes
- New controls
- All stainless steel hardware
- Newly reupholstered seat
- Restored (not rebuilt) Tecumseh 4 hp motor (new carb, new air filter, new points, new paint, decal, spark plug, oil, fuel lines,
fuel filter, fuel shut off)
- New clutch and chain
- New grips, foot peg covers, brake lever covers
- New wheel bearings
What a great bike for your child, your grandchild, or even your man cave
It is 99% done. I am just waiting for a rubber foot peg cover for the scrub brake which will be here 11/3.
