working on a a clone motor that with be getting mikuni style carb that uses a grommet style hose/clamps and wanted to modify it to a intake that was design for a bolt on carb.
what i end up doing is chucking it up in my 4 jaw to get it centered and then machine off the end flange and leaving a very small step in it and also a groove for my grommet/hose to lock down on.
as you can see in the picture the grommet has small step in it and a built in O-ring that will now seat in the machine out groove that's on the back side of the step.
with the hoses clamps tighten down it does not want to come off.
carb side also has a casted groove into it so it can lock down on to the grommet/hose when clamp down.
