Motor engine mounting hardware?

Suggestions on mounting hardware for mini bike motors engines? Bolts,nuts, washers???? I was going with 5/16 bolts washer and nylock nuts???

5/16 is what I use. My suggestion would be serrated flange nuts, serrated flange bolts. I like to use grade 8 because I tend to torque the hell out of motor mounting bolts to ensure the motor doesn't move under throttle. I use flathead motors almost exclusively, and they tend to vibrate more than OHV motors, another reason I torque 'em.

They make serrated flange nuts with wider flanges that work great.

You can also make mounting plates but that is a little more involved. I made some for my drag bike just so I could use 1 hand to remove engine bolts since I have jackshaft plate under engine.
