Muskin Dune Cat Find! (Help Needed!)

Heres the after going down the grits to 360

I think Kiesler may have laid down more than 3 layers of paint over the high-friction areas. Getting the rest of the red off was burning through my sandpaper and my forearms like crazy, so I just got the rough spots down enough to good paint and will just send it as-is. Lets hope it turns out well!

Finally painted the primer on today! gave it a good sand afterwards, it removed most of the scuffs and dings but not all, I suppose they will just have to stay. I cant be bothered enough to fill every little nick.

Need to get more basecoat, I can tell that a pint wont be enough for the entire body, unfortunately I found out after the paint shop closed, so that's a tomorrow thing.

Here's after wet sanding and a wash!

No updates for today. Paint shop was closed so I was unable to get more. Will try on Monday.
Tomorrow is solely dedicated to getting the chains tensioned and their mounts more ridged.

Next on the docker for tomorrow is applying the Rattlebomb from RothMetalFlake and the clearcoat on top of that, then figuring out this drivetrain issue.

The gearbox flexes under load from the motor, and kicks the chain off almost instantly, its very infuriating and a head scratcher, I've tried bracing it with a few sheets of metal welded right where the gearbox flexes the frame, and with a wedged 2x10 against the opposite side, but all that did was break one of the crappier welds I had on the frame.

There's a strong chance I completely remove the gearbox for the time being, just so I can get this thing running without breaking welds or chains.

Very sorry for the long wait!

Heres photos of the finished paintjob! for a first go, I think it looks damn good. Especially since Ive never done automotive painting before.

The project will be taking another break for a while, Until I can get hands on again, I want to draft up a better drivetrain geometry, the current one is far too sloppy to work with my current motor/gearbox match.
