My new challenge

i have some 1/8th stainless sheet i will try to make fenders out of. did you put on the bend/rolled edges yourself? figured hammer/dolly/pipe will get it close to presentable.

I am not really equiped so I took a 7" wide trailer fender, I splitted it in half and welded a 5'' wide steel band between both piece. Some grinding and leveling is needed but nothing impossible !

Took it out of the garage today to have a better look at it. ( garage is a bit dark as lighting is not too good) and I am quite pleased with the result so far !!

mine is getting ODG also. bought 24 cans 10 years ago to paint my truck but didn't. used one can to put a "see what it looks like" on it. hides a lot of flaws.

Almost done !!

It is almost done now. Basically I could connect gas hose and throttle cable, ad some oil in the engine and gas in the tank and go. But I want to strip it down, strip the red paint and paint it all olive drab so I will wait until weather warms up a bit so I can paint in my unheated garage .

I might also add some Military ammo box on each side of the rear rack to give it a more military look.

Here some more pics.

New fake springer fork

Well since I have decided to paint it all olive drab, I said to myself, an antique look would make it look even better so I switch the buckhorn grips for a nice set of Longhorns. Then I have decided to build a springer fork . It is non functional but it gives it a hell of a look ! Now I am thinking of changing the seat for a Harley panhead style solo seat in tan or light brown.

Getting there !!

With all the new changes, I figured a tank would look better on it so I build a new cover (for the real tank) that look a bit like an old Harley tank. All I can say is LOTS OF FUN TO BUILT !!

Project is looking good. I can sympathize with you regarding painting in a cold garage. My garage is heated but I only turn the heat on when I'm going to be out there working for a while. I painted a trim piece for mine in the basement because I didn't want to heat up the garage and stunk up the whole house. The wife was not happy! When I painted the frame I shot it out in the garage and then after about an hour I brought in the house to finish drying, it didn't stink so bad by then.
