My Rides

I was offered the job of grounds keeper for the cemetery of the small village I live in.
As being semi retired was stoked at this opportunity. Takes 6 hours to mow and 4 hours to trim.
Gotta do it in two days, after 6 hours straight on a mower my lower back is screaming. So that's today's plan, mow the cemetery and when I get home get the engine mounted. And cut a chain, Using RLV Silver Strike chain on this bike.
If it's anything like the gold on black or gold on gold chain, it will perform.

Got the engine mounted in the frame,
For some reason the exhaust is too close to the frame under the seat. It's the same exhaust I am using on the blue Rascal.
They are both the same frame with the same engine riser blocks. I'll address that later. Got the brake cable shortened, and soldered. I like to solder the cables in the areas where a connector is installed. Helps keep the wires of the cable together without fraying/unraveling.
Think tomorrow I can get it buttoned up.
Got some paint touch up to do after wrestling the engine around.
After I took the exhaust off I could move it anywhere I want it.

Sounds like a great civic duty.

Got the bike done and rolling, rides really nice. Ended up getting a header from Amazon and cut it down and thru an RLV clamp on muffler. I like the way it turned out. Got some paint touch up from assembly. Supposed to be raining tomorrow, hopefully this weekend I can get some miles on it. I think I will keep it.
I guess that's a wrap folks.
A potty mouth rooster.

WOW with a capital "W"! Very clean bike, I like that clean precise look, even if'n it is a dirty byrd lol. Very well put together, in record time even.
The talent / knowledge here is truly mind boggling!

What is the chain drip pan? How did you attach it. Really like that little addition.

Thanks bud,
That is a piece of thick lexan to protect the paint from the chain and chain mess.
Glued down with hot melt.
It helps.

Feline is getting some SunF tires too, hated these big heavy lawn mower tires. Had to put a torque converter on because of the weight. Took the TC off, going to straight chain it. Have a new 10t clutch and new chain. Will get tires done Monday.
The Pecker got a 4.10x3.50x6 slick tire out back.
Changed rear sprocket from 68 to 64 tooth on the new grey bike. Revved out too soon for country road cruising.
If that doesn't work I have a 60 and 62 to try out also.

Got my SunF tires mounted this morning.
While the wheels were off, I got the blue paint out and touched it up. Also did the assembly touch up on the grey bike.
Amazon sent me a #35 clutch, something just wasn't right with the chain and clutch.
Lucky I had a 420 clutch hanging on the wall. Like these tires much better, in looks and weight. They spin much truer also.
Raining, no test ride this evening.

Pulled the cover off the KTM today after hibernating all winter. Put a new battery in it and the tires were a few pounds low on air. This bike is a blast to ride, so light and maneuverable. Sometimes I think I ought to sell it as I'm lucky to put a few hundred miles a season on it. But,,,, she's a beauty and I have never seen another one in my neck of the woods.

Summer is here,
Enjoying the mini bikes while topping the pool off with the hose. Wifey wants her pool up and running. It's getting there, still too chilly yet to be swimming anyway.
The grey bike is just a pleasure to ride, throttle is smooth and it handles well with the street tires. The Pecker, well let's just let your imagination go to what that is like to ride.
I put a 15t clutch on it to let it stretch it's leg's on the top end. Still have 5 hrs break in time left. It's going to be a nasty little ride when I can let'er rip.

I apologize for for busting in on your post, but if you know like I've learned you would toss those Flintstone brakes, and use hydraulic brakes. The brakes you're using are for 35mph and under. A few yrs ago a bike with those brakes put me into an Oak tree. ☠️

I'm not scared,
If you don't abuse them and know your limits. Haven't ever had a problem with them. But I do appreciate your concern with my safety. Thank you, seriously.

Came across a very solid old cylinder fuel tank. Very little rust inside, had a thin layer of fuel varnish in the bottom. Cleaned it out, sandblasted to bare metal. Filled a few dingers in it and primed and painted black.
Got the top engine plate off Amazon.
Much tidier fuel line and pump mount.
4x8 dimensions, not sure how much fuel,
But enough for the rides I'll take this on.
