In my search for the perfect engine for my
Lil Indian I've acquired these 4 engines...left to right H70, HH60, HS40, & a H30.

I believe the whole block is cast iron on those. That's a roto tiller motor, the Wheel Horse guys love those things. Some of them had a ball bearing pto too:thumbsup:

So my question is do I use th HS40 or continue my search for a HS50?

If the HS40 is healthy, put it in. pulling it and planting a HS50 would not be a big deal later on.

So I finally weighed the HH60. I can't believe how much it weighs, 51.8 lbs & that's including the gas tank.

what kind of a lil Indian used an HS50, later 2 piece frame :shrug: They hardly used the HS40 in reality....only on 6" wheeled ones anyway.

I looked at the serial # last night and the HS40 I have is a 1968 model which of course explains the shroud and in my opinion for aesthetics looks better anyway and period correct to boot.
