It can be basically any carb you desire. You can replace the original carb, use a tank mounted carb or rig up a float bowl carb or a Mikuni type, you just have to have the right interface for it (intake manifold).

Best to match the bore diameter of the carb to the intake port diameter on the block.

This is the truth right here. I recently got a 26mm VM22 clone to work on my HM80. In all honesty though, I'd try to avoid the cheap $15 replacement carbs. They likely work fine if you're trying to get a piece of yard equipment working but seem to have some issues in a mini bike application.
