Just signed up a few minutes ago but have lurked the last few days. Recently bought a old wards mini bike and also a manco thunderbird which i am really in love with. Haven't played with minibikes in over a dozen years but heres some pics of one I built a while ago, pics are after it sat in my dads shed a dozen years so not as fresh and shiny as when I had built it.. I sold it last year but it was a fun bike. 8 ft long from end to end, 290 kawasaki on it, suicide rear hyd disc brake, stretched sporty tank, harley drag bars and neck, 1" live rear axle, Rode pretty good for as long and raked out as it was. I may also put in a dirt flat track on my property to play on, maybe a dirt drag strip as well. Would be less grass to mow and a place to play. lol I'll get some pics of the monkey wards bike and t bird here soon as well. I plan to do something I have always wanted to do with a mini on the monkey wards bike, a v twin and evel knievel themed bike, totally 70's overkill. The t bird came with a new 212 on it, so i'll probably tweak that, keep it stock lookin with some subtle cosmetic mods that appear factory. Maybe chrome the wheels, bars, add some chrome fenders etc Thought about even makin it street legal with lights/signals, although where I live in se ky, you can pretty much ride a 4 wheeler into town and no one takes a second glance. I'm also into old Torinos, boston whaler boats, guns and pretty much anything with a engine that makes noise. I love to cobble things together and re-use whatever I can to make it work. I'm not a high dollar builder most of the time at all. To me part of the fun is puttin stuff together as cheaply as I can but still have it look good.
