New project idea. What could go wrong?

Cheap Razor electric scooter and a Power Products AH47 kart engine look like a perfect match to me. The electric stuff is under the deck. Removing all that electric trash will give me better ground clearance. The frame is steel so can weld onto it. The engine was originally a bearing supported horizontal shaft non governed, Tillotson carbureted chainsaw or kart engine. I have a GEM racing snorkel muffler and a Go Power intake for it. I think with a low seat, a couple of foot pegs and a jack shaft, it might be a fun little cruiser. IMG_20250901_131415.jpg IMG_20250901_131429.jpg

I had a couple of those kicking around the garage. Picked them up along the road. Considered a gas engine swap. But didn't have a small enough engine that would fit the purpose.

Replaced the batteries in one and sold it (took forever, not much market for them used). The other I put back along the road for free.

Your project shows much more hope. Feel it could look pretty cold. Plus I always like a good project.

I do want a seat so I can sit down so there is not so far to fall if it gets too squirrely, like 33% of the family thinks.(wifey can be so not fun sometimes..)
It's their job to try to keep us alive. But secretly they think the project is cool too. Partially why they married us in the first place. They like that we build things.

Looks like it'd fit nicely just leaning up against that front 'razor' bar. Especially since you'll want everybody and everything on board leaning forward. Definitely build it tho. Maybe include some training wheels for stability. Or wheelie bar.
That gives me an idea. Since the Panther has that forward lean to it, maybe I'll see what one of them looks like on there tomorrow.

I have several Tecumseh snow blower engines and a bunch of Jacobsen smokers, but I think I like that white Ah47 best for this frame. Its pretty light, low, has more than enough power and they do look good once the paint is blasted off of them.

Your D35 turns the opposite direction of my E65... twin engine setup... 13 screaming HP

I built a pipe and chamber for the E65, haven't tried it out yet but with side bleed it should be much quieter than the raw pipe alone.

I think that is the same scooter I have, with the steel two piece wheels. My son has an e300s with the seat and limited edition aluminum mag wheels. His has all the bells and whistles. Proportional throttle, bigger motor everything we could put into it, so he won't let me near it because he knows I want his wheels. I plan to gut all the electrical stuff from under the aluminum deck/ fender and bend a seat frame to weld to the steel frame near the rear wheel. One problem I am still pondering is the one way bearing on the rear sprocket. It has #25 chain on it. I have a 10 tooth 35 clutch for the gas engine and a 40 tooth sprocket for the wheel, but I don't think I like the freewheeling idea. When I release the throttle, I want the engine to slow me down before I grab the tiny brake.
