New to forum, DB30 Questions

#1
Hello! I am new to the forum, and am very excited to find a forum dedicated to my minibike! I have an all stock DB30 yellow, and looking for some ways to give it a little more power. I've visited harbor freight and saw the 6.5 clone, great deal!
I was hoping you guys could answer a few question's about it.
Do you need a different clutch? Throttle? Anything different then what I have?(Like I said, my DB30 is 100% stock)
I also saw someone selling a kit on this site, but is their any way I can get a complete kit with the engine without going through 2 different people/sites?
Also, becasue I'm planning and hoping to get the 6.5 clone, what can I do in the meantime to give it more power and speed?
Thank you in advance!

if you do remove the governor. it would be a good idea to look into getting at least a billet rod. they're a safety thing but are also lighter than stock so you'll rev up a bit quicker.

Different Clutch. You have a 5/8" shaft on your stock engine. The 6.5 has a 3/4" engine shaft. Same throttle cable, but different mounting. If you don't get the kit you will have to drill holes in the engine plate.

Really its is so much easier to buy the kit and engine. It takes at least 6 hours of fab work out of the equation. The kit bolts up in 3-4 hours for a novice builder and have a straight 3-4 hours to spend on it.
