New to tote gotes

I bought a tote gote from my buddy who got me interested in these. He suggested I join this site. I don't know much but I'm looking forward to getting her running. I'm sure I'll be digging through the archives looking for advice. Does anyone know if this is a 404 or a 414? The tag is missing on the forks

Richard Trotter is one of the best experts on Tote Gotes here. I'm sure he can answer all your questions.

Count the teeth on the upper rear sprocket. I think the 414 is 48t and 404 is 40t.
Also some of the really early 400 series bikes didn’t have a tag. Look for a stamping on the head tube area.

I would say it is a Model 404 Tote Gote, the clutch has been changed to a Comet aftermarket unit...
