I'm restoring a go kart I built about 50 years ago (seriously!) that has a 2HP B&S flat head engine (model 60102) and a Comet "Patent Pending" (couldn't find and other markings on it) clutch on it. It's a 12 Tooth, #35 chain unit. Kart has a 60 tooth wheel sprocket turning a 4.10- 4 tire.
Anyway, the springs look a little toasty after a bit of bead blasting. My question is, will the dual springs I see for Noram clutches work in this unit? They look very similar. And if so, can anyone suggest what springs to try with the above motor/ gearing combination. Kart is fairly lightweight and will be hauling a 160 lb (max) driver (mostly will be my grandson driving), just running up and down a long driveway. Thanks much!
