LETS GET BACK TO THE EVENT. WE HAVE A HEAD COUNT NOW OF 25 PEOPLE COMING. STILL EARLY BUT IF YOU CHECK THE SITE MAP YOU CAN PICK YOUR SITE AND WE CAN GET IT READY DURING A WORK PARTY. WE WILL LABEL IT FOR YOU. THERE IS PLENTY OF WOOD AND WE CAN GET FIRE PITS FOR A CAMP FIRE ALSO.

Had a great turnout over the weekend. Lots of work done and lots of riding.

Several more large Pull In an Pull through camping sites opened up as well as some spectacular tent sites with a view of the adjacent valley.

We fixed the driveway with 40 tons of crushed stone and the hill on the rear corner was fixed up with a 20 ton load of small crushed stone small enough for bare feet.

The Stream is still flowing but is easily passable for trucks and minibikes. The Swamp is being drained but is passable with ATV's.

Tent City, a clearing in the vast unexplored region is intended to hold about 20 tents surrounding a large fire pit and having its own Porta John, Access to Tent City is by foot path only to keep out cars, trucks, and trailers. This still requires some clean up so if you enjoy tenting stop up at the next cleanup day and claim your tent plot.

The Rochester Crew pretty much cleaned up winters ravages on the Assylum. This spot is just in a bit past the upper entrance, go in the same entrance and turn to the right, there are tons of trailer and tent sites covered in moss.

Jimm Kemp will be announcing the next clean up day. Remember, we clean and fix things up, then we ride!

Thanks,

Phil, Jay, Jeff, and Owen

here is a view of a bunch of tent sites, these are in the upper left corner of the fest map. this part of the site has patches of peat moss and bedding perfect for tents with perfect drainage.

show up for any clean up day and claim your spot for the fest and future events, clean up the site, add a camp fire, and stake your claim with sign.

Looks great Phil. I hope people are contributing some money to help defer the cost of the stone and materials. Should be a great year. I’m glad Rick was able to make it to help out.
everything is shaping up good. we had a good turnout and rick showed up out of the blue.

the loop is done, did rick send you some pictures? it came out nice under a canopy of trees.

george finished up his tent site, the assylum has a field stone BBQ they mortared up, looking pretty cool.

eric, ELT, started and pretty much finished a nice little foot bridge over the outlet of the swamp.

a bunch of tent sites were fixed up on the high side, each with a fire pit.

i think we are doing two more cleanup weekends, one in july and august.

edit: rick brought a dozen or so genuine wisconsin sausages which was lunch pork heaven. last year he gave me packages of sausage, it was like pork drugs. i hope he fills his trunk this year!
