SO I picked up this engine for my mini ? Is this going to be okay to use:confused: ... it's not to big is it ? DO i need to use/make a jack shaft? Is anyone out there using this same engine in a mini or have any pictures of how I can run the chain to the wheel ? Im still really new to building mini's :eek:ut: Im going to buy wheel's, a clutch and sprocket next week is there anything I should look for or look out for when im shopping for these items ?

I would use a jack shaft. That way you can dial in a good gear ratio by swaping the smaller less expensive sprockets rather than clutch and wheel sprockets.:001_cool:

I have the same engine on one of my DBs. I didn’t use a jack shaft. Make sure when you attach the clutch, you put it on in what appears to be backwards. Otherwise, the engine will sit too far to the right.

Looks like your clutch will already be outside of the rear frame section...Motor looks to be too wide for that set up...Install the clutch and check chain alignment before proceeding....It might save you a lot of time and money before you get to far into it...

I think you need to move your engine over to the right more .You should try to have the motor mounted near the center of your engine plate .

it just looks like the wrong type of engine for that frame:doah::hack::grind::weld: if you not sure about what you are doing? then don't do it and save the engine for a bigger frame poject when you are good and ready:thumbsup:.....

Thanks for all the answer's. The motor is not set in place , I just threw it inside the frame to take the pictures. The other two motor's in the background are giving me a hard time. I got them both to spark but cant keep either one running.
