Number 4 Stamped On Briggs And Stratton Piston

so i have a number 4 stamped on my briggs and stratton piston and i want to know what the H.P rating on the connecting rod. thanks

also i have a spare that is number 2 stamped

to find out what engine you have you need to run the numbers stamped in the blower housing...that will give you the year, cubic inch, ect ect.. I know on most 5hp the head and some other parts are cast with a 13 which is also the cubic inch, that does not hold true on all parts though...I have a 3hp rod that has 83 on one side and 22 on the other..

maybe I am not understanding what you want to know....

you want to know if the number is the hp of the engine? or how much hp will the rod hold up to?

Does your connecting rod have a metal dipper that bolts to it,if so I would not rev it past 4000 RPM.

oh yeah it does the piston has the dipper attached to it with a spacer that holds onto the nuts

it is off an Briggs And Stratton 6B-S, very old engine

the rod has the oil dipper not the piston

The #4 means it is a chrome piston .
