Old school boxing fans?

Good thread, love old boxing.
Lennox Lewis was the real deal as far as power, finesse and endurance.

OK if you can remember Butterbean, then you may be able to remember another fighter of the same starting era that was Tall Lanky Redneck (Kid Rock looking but stronger) dude that hit like freight train. Knocked guys out and fought weird, like bouncy up and down throwing from weird angles.
He got killed in a pickup truck shooting in the south, but cannot remember the guys name.
Would have been on EPSN Friday night fights back in the day.

EDIT ; I should have mentioned the mystery redneck was not heavyweight, probably middle.
So not Tommy Luoghran?

In early 1978, Ali and Leon Spinks were getting ready to fight. Leon got arrested for driving without a license, I think it was in St. Louis.
I was an MP on the gate at MCAS Beaufort, SC. That ugly fool showed up at the gate the next day, driving a big Lincoln with his even uglier wife. I denied them entry to the station. None of my coworkers believed me until t was on the news the next day.
