paint questions

iam gonna be painting my go cart very soon and ive got alot of automotive rattle can paint if i paint it with that and put a clear coat on it will it be hard enough to not get nicks if it hits like a rock ?

Powder coating would probably be your best bet, but is quite expencive, I live close to a paint factory and I looked at what they offered, and they came back with a poly coat paint I'm thrilled with, you can brush it if you don't have a spray gun, but for the best results, it's worth buying a cheap gun and spraying it, spray it a couple of times and yea it'll chip if a rock hits it hard enuff i'm sure, but all paint will, it sure looks good!!! Oh yea any color too. AKRON PAINT AND VARNISH CHECK THEM OUT
