Tomorrow, Evil Ed and I, and anybody else who stops by, are going to put the 1st one together; it will be the "F" model, with a white Tecumseh 4hp and the two speed shifter! I have been preparing all the little stuff and figure that by tomorrow afternoon we will put it on my big display table!

Wow, this has been a long long time in the making, at least by minibike building standards!

Pictures soon!!!

#1 of 4

I bought the first of 5 Powells in January of this year!

Today we put back together the first of them, my F model, 2 speed with a Tec 4.

The bike was powder coated red and the silver/grey, as original!

The motor was cleaned and painted by Evil Ed; if you want to restore a bike properly, get EE on your team, he absolutely charges a fair amount for his work and the results are incredibly wonderful, just look!!

Every bolt is original and all have been re zinc'ed. All the chrome parts have been newly plated and every other piece on the bike is original and has been wire brushed, sanded, buffed or polished, and then clear coated.

The hand grips and the chain guard are brand new 1960's Powell parts!

Here are pictures of 2 fine old craftsmen assembling this near perfect Powell -

My next door neighbor does upholstery and will do the seat neaxt week - but I couldn't wait and so it is up on my table of collectible minibikes! WOW!

My mouth hit the floor when I viewed your recent Restoration photos..

The ol boys and girls @ the Powell factory would have been proud of the amount of time, money, and the attention to detail that you and ed have put into this Restoration project..
With that said can't wait to see the others

Just got back from a Big Boy meeting with the 1%'s - GRDave, his Evilness & Edwin, in the very hot San Fernando Valley (It was 130 inside my car when we left!).

After lunch EE gave me the Tec 2.5 he prepared for the Skat Kitty; I now have it in my office next to the white Tec 4 he did for the "F" Powell, and they are a beautiful sight! The piece in front of the 2.5 is powder coated red - they are going to look great together!!

Thanks Ed; wow, wait until we all get to see the 2 B&S Coppers he is going to do next!!

wow, ed does some beautiful work
