I`ve read alot of the build up threads and I`m guessing if I`m gonna buy a new Predator I should get the hemi version. I was hoping maybe someone had pics of the two different heads. I`m still not sure what the actual difference is. Thanks in advance.
This head has roller rockers, and it does not come that way from the factory. Notice how wide the valve cover area is, and the angle of the rocker arms. The other non-Hemi heads looks like most all other clone heads.
Ok i see. Looks like the valves are layed back as well or "splayed". Angling them towards the runner should be worth flow as well.
Thanks Mr OND
I just picked up a brand new Hemi Predator today, #60363, to see what all the hubbub was about. After adding gas and oil it started on the first pull! Gotta say it sure runs smooth, quiet, and clean-perfect for what I am using it for (building a gas engine powered air compressor)
I inquired to how many they had in stock and they said 61, so no hemi Predator shortage in Portland, OR!
Here is what that cast valve cover looks like (meaning Hemi engine), compared to the stamped cover below it:
I just picked up a Predator 212cc engine for my first build and ....... ITS A HEMI
I had no idea there was a difference in the engines when I was reading about the awesome power and reliabilty of the HF predator engines. I also used a 25% off coupon to purchase this motor.
So if I am going to do the "stage 1" kit, (Jets, springs, muffler etc..), and go with a TAV, should I keep my current 212 stock and get the Hemi and upgrade that?
Does the hemi have more TQ as they are rated the same HP.
