Question on my Someday Cushman

I guess my question is do you all think this engine would be a good fit for my Chushman? it has been rebuilt and I have most of it including the kicks start.

47 or so pacemaker…..let’s see the numbers on the bottom clutch side….circle b motor most likely….m8? And yes it’ll fit….i put a much bigger husky in mine

dobber, I like your garage. It looks like you have fun in it. I don't know anything about Cushmans, but with Skipp you're in good hands.

So it is a little hard to see in the pic, but it says M9 on it

M9 is actually the most desirable motor…true 8hp…early m8s had a smaller cam and crank to keep them at 5hp so 15 year olds could legally ride them…,but not there’s the larger cam and crank and everyone is making 7.9 hp motors…I have a m9 on my Eagle that re built high compression…my old crippled ass can’t kick it anymore….its headed to tenn soon for an electric start…..

I gues to be accurate, cushman started putting the bigger cams and cranks in the later model m8s…probably 56 and later…

ok, I will look to ensure my kicker matches it. I have never checked to see if it fits, but it came with it so I hope it does.

That's really nice, my bow for mine looks different then that one. Mine is also chrome, but is 2 bars with plates to bolt it to the body.

Mine I just bought at Portland….only two like it….old guy made them for his two 60 series and past before he got to install them….same on that front end…..my original is solid….

It is a Fairlane 500, only problem is its a 4 door. but it is in pretty good shape. I have several old cars myself.

I’ve blindly followed that notion, that to be of any worth a classic car has to be a two door (more desirable) but I am not sure why this is? It certainly removes a lot of fine 4-door cars out of the admiration fad. Nice collection.

Yeah, that is a tough one. The bottom line is that the two doors look better to most of us, and command more money because of it. Restoring is already a losing financial proposition, so it's better to throw money away on more cool, not less cool. (Says the guy who used to take girls on dates in the 70's on Mom's bright red Ford station wagon)
