Question on picking paint color for K&S Hornet

I have a completely original K&S Hornet that I want to restore. I was wondering if it would hurt the value of it if I don't do it in an original color. I have tried to find some of the original colors but not much info out there on these bikes. What are your opinions?

Personally I think it takes a lot of the fun out of rebuilds if your limited to original colors. What I remember for those days we used to rattle can everything and that was part of the whole scene. Now if you have original paint with patina (scratches, wear marks), the collecter value is degraded if you change colors. As they say, its only original once. So two schools of thought for you to ponder.

Can we see some pictures. If the bike will clean up nicely then I might leave it.

What is your REASON for "restoring" it? Is the intent to just immediately flip it and (try to) make some money/profit, or is it primarily for you to ride and enjoy it the way YOU want it to look?
Want to end up with a million dollars buying, restoring, and selling minibikes? It's easy...
...just start with TWO million! - LOL
